The aim of the Test of Rapamycin in Aging Dogs (TRIAD) Cohort is to conduct a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of a drug called rapamycin.
In order to be invited into the eligibility process, dogs must be in overall good health, at least 7 years of age, spayed or castrated, and weigh between 44 and 120 pounds. Owners must be willing to bring their dogs to TRIAD clinical site twice a year. Like Foundation and Precision members, those in the TRIAD eligibility process will receive DNA and Sample Kits.
The eligibility process for TRIAD is quite involved and will take several months. Invited dogs will attend a screening visit to ensure that they have no underlying health conditions, which might prohibit their participation. Only after this screening will dogs be enrolled.
Pack members who are invited to begin the eligibility process will be given much more detailed information as the process unfolds and will be able to decline participation at any point.
To find out if your dog may be eligible for our clinical trial, please complete the TRIAD Rapid Eligibility Assessment. As a note, if you already have a dog enrolled in the project, we are unable to accept a second enrollment at this time, though we are hoping to have this ability in the next year. All currently enrollment members of the Dog Aging Project Pack have been evaluated for TRIAD. Please do not complete the eligibility assessment for a current DAP Pack member.
