Participation in the Dog Aging Project is entirely voluntary, and you will not be compensated for your time. If your dog is among the subset invited to join additional studies that include the collection of samples and/or extra lab work, we will provide and pay for all necessary sample collection kits as well as shipping costs. If it is necessary for a veterinarian to collect these samples, we ask that you have this done during your dog’s normal annual visit. We do not, at this time, have sufficient funding to pay for the visit. However, for the vast majority of participants, a veterinary visit will not be necessary for participation.
This is an opportunity to be a community scientist, to be a part of a group of people who care about dogs' health and happiness, and to know you're making a difference for the future generations of dogs. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
