The Dog Aging Project provides free DNA Kits to members of our Foundation, Precision, and TRIAD cohorts. As much as we would like to be able to provide DNA Kits for all members of the Dog Aging Project Pack, we are limited by current funding.
Unlike for-profit companies that sell genetic test kits to the general public for the purpose of detecting genetic ancestry, the genetic portion of the Dog Aging Project is designed to answer specific scientific questions.
To answer these questions, our veterinary team has reviewed the medical records submitted by members of the Pack and identified dogs with the age, sex, size, genetic background, geographic, and health parameters that will be most informative for this portion of our research. These dogs have been invited to participate in additional genetic studies as members of our cohorts.
We hope to obtain additional funding that will allow us to expand this part of our research so that we can include many more dogs in the future.
