Yes, your dog will have a small amount of fur shaved from their hind end to collect the hair sample. We understand this can be stressful and cause you concern. We will be collecting a small amount of hair, about two tablespoons or an amount that would fill the cup of your hand. We have provided your primary care veterinarian with instructions on how to collect the hair sample as well as tips and tricks to decrease the visibility of the missing hair.
