Dog Aging Project curated datasets are cleaned datasets, which are released on an annual basis. When cleaning datasets, we do not modify any values. However, the data may be restructured, re-coded or harmonized to facilitate analysis of the data. Curated datasets will be available as de-identified data only. The data contain no personally identifiable information (PII) or personal health information (PHI) from dog owners.
Curated data include de-identified surveys, data extracted from VEMRs, and environmental characteristics derived from secondary data sources as well as results of the analysis of biological samples, such as blood chemistry panels, urinalysis, and DNA sequences. In some cases, derived data (derived variables, indices and/or novel methodologies developed from Dog Aging Project data) may be included in Curated Data Releases.
In general, data collected in Year 1 will be released as a Curated Data Release in Terra to DAP Team Members and Collaborators early in Year 2 and released for Open Access Data Users early in Year 3 and so forth.
