The day of your Sample Kit appointment is an exciting milestone as a participant in the Dog Aging Project! You should expect for the sample collection portion of the appointment to take approximately 30 minutes. This time will be in addition to any other examination your veterinarian performs on your pet. Depending on your veterinarian’s practice, your dog may be taken to another room for the sample collection. During the collection, your veterinarian will draw blood, collect urine and feces, as well as shave a small amount of your dog’s fur for the sample kit. After the sample collection, your veterinarian will package up the samples in our Sample Kit and ship them back to us.
